Cheek augmentation treatment 'can roll back the years'

Over 50s seeking a way to look younger with cosmetic treatment could find cheek augmentation to be the key to a "fresh and rejuvenated" look.

Dr Tracy Mountford, founder and medical director of the Cosmetic Skin Clinic, has recommended the non-surgical and non-invasive treatment as being an ideal solution for those wishing to restore volume and curvature to their features.

The treatment is also intended to be comparatively quick and safe, with figures released by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons suggesting that four-fifths of temporary dermal filler procedures resulted in no serious complications.

Dr Mountford pointed to celebrities such as Sharon Stone and Sharon Osbourne as examples of those who have benefitted from the filler technique and suggested that cheek augmentation represented the new standard in beauty treatments.

She said: "When I started 20 years ago, we were very excited to correct a line with collagen. It has moved on now. Volume is the key to youthful looks and does restore confidence."
