Cruising 'has something to offer everyone'

Cruise holidays may prove a good holiday choice for over 50s looking for an affordable but flexible option, according to an expert.

Over 50s holidaymakers looking for an affordable and varied holiday experience may wish to consider the possibilities offered by cruising, an expert has said.

According to, a number of cheap deals are still available to travellers wishing to book now as cruise lines still look to attract business during the recession.

Holiday provider the Cruise Line states that those who do opt for holidays of this type could find a lot more variety in the potential options than they might expect.

Robin Maclear, managing director at the firm, has suggested that cruise providers are increasingly looking to cater to demand for less traditional locales, such as South America, the Far East or the Indian Ocean.

This means that holidaymakers are now more likely to be able to find a ship and destination that fits their particular taste, whether that is a luxury ship to the Mediterranean or a smaller vessel to Australia.

Mr Maclear said: "There is a ship out there for you, for whatever it is you want."
