Famous silver surfers

Out of all the famous silver surfers, Queen Elizabeth II is fast becoming the most famous. For those of you who feel a bit confused now Ė she is keeping up with technology and has mentioned that she regularly e-mails her grandchildren.

Recently the Queen took a trip to the search engine giant, Googleís headquarters. She has also been involved in the creation of The Royal Channel on You Tube (owned by Google). With the rise in popularity of podcasts, she also made sure her Christmas broadcasts were released as podcasts.

So often older people are against technology and moving in to the future because they donít feel they can learn and keep up to date like most of the youngsters do. This is an absolute fallacy and thanks to people like Queen Elizabeth II, the amount of people keeping up with modern technology has increased and when looking at statistics, you will see that even the older generation buys laptop computers or digital music players.

Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has a lot of interests such as polo and painting, but one that definitely ranks high on his list are computers. He has a definite interest in computers and the Internet.
His keen interest in computers will inspire others, just as much as Queen Elizabeth II and her interest do. These silver surfers make no secret of their enjoyment when it comes to their computers and Internet services.

Towards the end of 2000 Tony Blair had big plans to boost Internet use in the United Kingdom. Which shows that he too, could be categorised with the famous silver surfers. Some of the plans he had were to decrease prices for Internet training. He aimed to set up centres with Internet in poorer communities to give them the opportunity to see what the net is all about.

Even though itís nice to recognise all the different famous silver surfers, the Internet and computers are something most people can find joy in. You donít have to be a Royal or rich to join them in getting to know what itís all about and master the art of using a computer and surfing the Internet. Phone around to get the best prices on computers and go from there to get yourself set up at home Ė most computer shops have assistants who wonít mind giving you advice on the equipment that suits your budget. Go out and get online.
