Non-surgical facelifts

Many people do not want invasive procedures with needles and surgery under a general anaesthetic, so thanks to modern technology, it is now possible to have an effective facelift without surgery. Non-surgical facelifts offer a viable and affordable alternative to cosmetic plastic surgery. There are many options aside from surgical facelifts if you feel that you are not quite ready to go under the knife. Some of these can be applied at home, in a beauty salon, and without the need for recovery time afterwards.

A non-surgical facelift is a non-invasive procedure, so there will be no scalpel and no stitches, and as a result these procedures are much cheaper than surgical facelifts. Whichever way you look at it, non-surgical generally means safer. The methods are endless and include anti-ageing creams, lotions to reduce face and eye wrinkles, Botox® injections to remove lines caused by muscle contraction, dermal fillers to replace lost collagen in the face. All this ultimately results in a more youthful appearance.

Even with all of its appealing attributes, one of the biggest disadvantages of non-surgical facelifts is that they never provide a complete facelift, and results do not last forever. Botox, for example, will wear off, laser resurfacing only works for the disappearance of fine lines. So if you only have fine lines, you can go for laser resurfacing rather than a mini facelift. If you have more than one factor you want changed, like sagging skin, then chances are the surgical facelift is your only viable option. In certain situations a patient’s skin may be too thin or too sensitive for thread facelifts or laser facelifts, so even the least invasive non-surgical facelift procedures are undesirable or impossible.

Other methods that will give you a facelift effect include facial exercises, chemical skin peels, laser resurfacing procedures to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and even acupuncture. If you have issues with any of these procedures, it is important to note that vitamins, anti-oxidants and nutritional supplements can also improve the skin and slow down the ageing process.

Whatever procedure you are planning on having done, make sure that your reasons for doing it are for yourself and not as a result of pressure from somebody else. When you make your decision you may want instant results so you may rush off and go to your nearest facility. It is advisable that you take the time to find a company or individual you can trust, who has a good reputation and has been in the business for years.

If you feel that non-surgical facelifts is the way to go then good luck and enjoy the results.
