Over 50s opt for cosmetic surgery.

More and more women aged over 50 are opting to have cosmetic surgery, the Harley Medical Group (HMG) has revealed.

According to the organisation, many of these people are opting to have treatment because they have entered into a relationship with a new and younger partner, reports

Indeed, HMG noted that some are using the proceeds of their divorce settlements to fund the surgery, which includes procedures such as Botox and facelifts.

Liz Dale, director of the group, commented: "In most cases it appears having a younger partner is simply a catalyst to taking positive action to reduce the appearance of, for example, a furrowed forehead or sagging jowls."

This coincides with similar observations from Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery, which revealed that nearly two-thirds of its patients are aged over 50.

The clinic reported that facelifts are one of the most popular procedures, along with tummy tucks.
